Accuracy of these lines are to the nearest meter for arcs that follow section, township lines and aliquot part descriptions.

    A series of six volumes covering Alaska that describe natural and manmade systems. An assembled Planning team made up of resource specialists prepared their respective resource summaries for each of six regions of the state. The sources are a combination of existing and original. Original maps prepared for evaluated resources are currently housed at the Alaska Resource library in the Anchorage Federal Building. General themes include climate, topography, geology, hydrology, soils, biotic communities, cultural resources, land status and services. The intended use of this information was to provide resource information for federal, state, and local planning efforts particularly for land selections under ANILCA. and reflect data current to early 1970's. Volumes 1-Southcentral Region and IV-Southeast Region are applicable to NBS Ecosystem Initiative areas.

    Data Type: Boundaries ;This dataset depicts the Federal conservation system units created by Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act, 1980. This data reflects original boundaries updated by various federal agencies involved. DNR has compiled updates and added the boundary of the National Petroleum Reserve to create this dataset. These data are intended to provide a general resource for unit boundaries for a variety of resource applications. This dataset is widely distributed throughout local GIS users. Other agencies including U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service use this database in their GIS work.

    Data Type: Boundaries ; The boundaries of the native regional corporations created by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) were derived in March 1992 from the 1990 TIGER database, prepared by the U.S. Census Bureau. Boundaries denote broad administrative limits used in the implementation of ANCSA. Many regional corporations retain land and resource holdings outside their respective ANCSA boundaries. Scale varies, recommend use at 1:1,000,000 or smaller.
